New York is unlike any other state. Why should its home insurance be any different? We understand the unique needs of New York homeowners and the unprecedented weather they face. Our coverage is designed to keep what you love protected, today and every day.
Homeowners Insurance (HO3)
Think of this coverage as your all-in-one safety net. Homeowners insurance covers your home, other structures like a fence or garage, your belongings, additional living expenses if a covered loss keeps you from living at home, personal liability, and medical payments if a visitor is injured.
It can cover a variety of damage, protecting your home and belongings from fire, theft, vandalism, wind, hail, and more. In fact, if the event isn’t listed in the policy as an exclusion, it’s covered. Meanwhile, the liability portion of your policy ensures your family is protected in case they are held responsible for someone’s bodily injuries or lost property.
Dwelling Fire Coverage (DP3)
This policy is for those who need a more flexible approach to their protection. Whether you live in the home year round or rent out the property, dwelling fire coverage can protect your home, other structures, belongings, additional living expenses or loss of rental income, personal liability, and medical payments.
Unlike the more robust HO3 policy, this coverage can be tailored to just cover the essentials if you don’t need all the extras. An HO3 policy also limits the amount of time per year a home can be rented out and still qualify for its protection. Because a DP3 was originally designed to cover rental properties, it’s a great fit for homeowners who rent out their place more than two weeks at a time.
And don’t let the name fool you – a dwelling fire policy can cover all causes of damage to the home unless the policy lists the event as an exclusion.
